COACHES RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All coaches must be approved and signed off on by the principal, superintendent, and/or local board of education and the TMSGA must be notified if there is a permanent coaching change during the season.

  • Teams that have one coach coaching both boys and girls may appoint an assistant coach to advise one of the teams during competition.

  • Submit forms and payment on time (before first practice and/or competition). Eligible players may be added during the season.

  • Know and enforce Unsportsmanlike Conduct (coaches, student/athletes, and spectators).

  • Do not play ineligible student athletes.

ADVICE

  • During regular season play, coaches may decide the level of advice appropriate for their players.

  • Coaches may advise their players in post season play only between the green and next tee without holding up play.

  • Players can take no longer than 40 seconds to hit a shot.  Violators should be warned and educated.

  • Assist all players with pace of play.

  • A school may have an Assistant Coach give advice in competition ONLY IF the Head Coach is coaching both a Boys and Girls program.  This person must be on file with the TMSGA.

  • Individual participants may receive advice from the coach approved by their school's principal.
