Aspen Grove Challenge

A player must play in at LEAST FOUR (4) Summer Season (May 28 - July 16) tournament rounds to be eligible to compete in the 2024 Aspen Grove Challenge. This year, anyone will be allowed to register, but the field will be selected based on the below criteria, as it relates to the registered field. When registering for the 2024 Aspen Grove Challenge, your card will not be charged until you have been accepted into the event.

Selection for the 2024 Aspen Grove Challenge contested at The Little Course at Conner Lane will again be based on the player’s scores relative to par. This system was met with great success over the last few seasons and we are pleased to be using it once again in 2024. Please read the following information carefully to get a full understanding of how the system will function.

Tiebreakers
Below are the tiebreaker scenarios that will be used for ALL micro divisions:

Tiebreak #1 - Head to Head Matchup(s)
Ex: David and John competed in the same three tournaments. David shot lower scores than John in two of the three tournaments. David would win the tiebreak.

Note: If players tied under the same criteria level did not ALL compete against each other head to head we will move to Tiebreak #2.

Tiebreak #2 - Total Number of Rounds Within The Criteria Level
Ex: Sarah and Rachel each shot multiple rounds of EVEN par or better. Sarah has three rounds in this criteria level while Rachel has four rounds in the same criteria. Rachel would win the tiebreak because she has one more round that fits into the criteria level. If no break in tie, we will move to Tiebreak #3.

Tiebreak#3 - Sum of The Rounds That Fit Under The Criteria Level (In Relation to Par)
Ex: Andrew and Rob are competing in the Boys 10-11 division. Andrew and Rob each have two rounds of one over(+1) to three over(+3) par, so they will both fit under criteria number three. Andrew's cumulative total of his two rounds is three over(+3) par while the sum of Rob's two rounds under the criteria level is four over (+4) par, so Andrew would win the tiebreak. If the sum of the rounds, in relation to par, are equal; then we move onto Tiebreak #4.

Tiebreak #4 - Next Lowest Round In Relation to Par That Does Not Meet Any Criteria Level
Ex: David's next best round NOT in the criteria level in relation to par is a single round of four over (+4) par. John's next best round NOT in the criteria level is also four over (+4) par. John's next best round after that is another round of four over(+4) par while David's next best round is five over(+5) par, so John would win the tiebreak. If this does not break the tie, we move on to Tiebreak #5.

Tiebreak #5 - Most Rounds Played During Summer Season
Ex: Emma has played in six events during the summer season and Anna has played in five, so Emma would win the tiebreak.

*Note: For the above criteria levels we will only proceed to the next level if the tournament field is NOT full.
Ex: If the tournament field is set at 15 juniors in the Boys 10-11 division and 15 juniors fall under criteria #1 and #2, then criteria #3 will be used for alternate spots.

*In all three Micro divisions a junior MUST compete in at least FOUR tournament rounds, and must register for the event using their Bluegolf account, in order to be eligible for the 2024 Aspen Grove Challenge*

In addition to the exemption criteria, the Sneds Tour Staff has decided that the yardages used at each Micro event need to be similar as possible. After reviewing yardages for all divisions from previous years, ALL micro divisions competing on par 3 courses will play from approximately 1000 yards. ALL micro divisions competing on a regulation par 36 course will play from approximately 1850 yards. Please note, all regulation length courses will be played as a par 36, regardless of the par listed on the course scorecard.
